GENERAL INFORMATION
Őrség Open is a two day, PDGA sanctioned disc golf tournament organized by Kanyon DGSE every summer in Őrség National Park close to the small village of Őriszentpéter. In 2025 the tourney will be played on August 2 and 3, and it will be the 15th edition of it. We are expecting 60-70 players to participate including reigning and past champions and regulars who come back to play and have fun every year.
REGISTRATION AND DIVISIONS
In order to register to the tournament, please fill the Registration Form.
In order to confirm your registration, please transfer the registration fee to our bank account. Registered players will remain on the registration list until they transfer their fee (updated every 2-3 days). Players who have registered and paid their fees will be moved from the registration list to the tournament entry list at the PDGA Event Page of the tournament (updated every 2-3 days). Event capacity is 90 spots.
This year the tournament is offering MPO, FPO, Green (players with ratings <850) and Purple divisions (players with rating <800). Players can always register to a higher category. In case the number of registered players in a division does not reach 4, then players will automatically be moved up to the next available division (Purple >> Green, Green >> FPO/MPO).
Registration deadline is July 30, 23:59:59.
TOURNAMENT FEE AND PAYMENT
The tournament fee is 16 000 HUF.
Members of Kanyon DGSE disc golf club are entitled to a 25% discount, their tournament fee is 12 000 HUF.
Please make sure to transfer the tournament fee to this bank account latest until July 30.

We will use PDGA Live digital scoring on the tournament, so please make sure to keep your mobile phones charged. The password for the tournament will be sent to all players through email shortly before the tournament. Just in case, we will also have paper score sheets (weak signal may be an issue).

COURSE
Location: The course is a pop-up course, and can be found here – google map link
Please note that parking is ONLY allowed on the road side, only organisers holding a special permit can drive on the grass.
Description: If you have already been to Őrség Open, then you know what to expect, the course will be the same as in previous years, maybe some smaller changes will be administered depending on how the farmlands look like. If you have not yet been to Őrség, then please expect an agricultural/forest landscape, in the heart of a national park, with tight wooded holes, long crushes, and some holes where finesse is required to score well.
Facilities: We will have tournament tents at the course to keep us safe from the sun and the rain (if any), and some benches where we can chill between, before and after rounds. Two refreshment and medical stations will help us stay hydrated and safe.
Map: The course map is almost the same as last year with some minor changes – map will be available soon.
FORMAT AND PAYOUT:
Rules: The tournament is a PDGA C-Tier event and all official rules and regulations, and all official tournament rules for this tier will apply.
Flights: The first round will be played in semi random groups in shotgun start. The second round will be played in groups by total scores (and in case of ties by lower PDGA number) in shotgun start. The third round will be played in groups by divisions and total scores (and in case of ties by lower second round scores, than by lower PDGA number, than by last name’s alphabetical order) in shotgun start.
Prizes: No cash payout. Larger trophies will be given in divisions MPO and FPO to places 1-3, and smaller prizes will be given in divisions Green and Purple.
ACCOMODATION
Location: The official accommodation for the tournament is Fazekasnő Camping, In Kovácsszer 72, Őriszentpéter. This is a really cozy nice camping site with basic wooden houses (only beds, showers outside) and a huge, very well equipped campsite, this will be the tournament center.
Reservation: You are of course welcome to arrange your accommodation anywhere else, but if you would like to stay in this place, then you need to indicate this on the registration form Please note that there is a limited supply of wooden houses and rooms in the stone house, and we would like to distribute them on a „modified” first-come-first-served basis (this means couples, ppl traveling with children, etc will have priority). We shall inform you shortly after your registration if your request can be met.
Prices: The accommodation will be payable directly to the camping owners on Saturday evening before dinner. One night in the camping shall cost around 5 000 HUF/night/person, and the houses are 8 000 HUF/night/person, tourist tax included in both cases. You will need to leave your rooms by Sunday morning, before the round.
FOOD
With the exception of the traditional saturday evening goulash-soup and a vegetarian version thereof, the tournament is a self-catering event, please make sure to bring, buy, prepare, etc. your own food. The camp site has many places to store your food, there are shops and restaurants in the town.
